Accessing acquisition and pre-development financing and funding is very difficult for non-profit housing providers, if available at all. To solve the housing crisis in our cities, we need access to capital to move projects through the design, permit, and approval process.
Our goal is to raise $15 million in community bonds for site acquisition and the pre-development of new construction projects.

Our community bond is open to investment from all types of investors including non-accredited / accredited individuals, corporations and institutions. There is a residency requirement for individual investors as these individuals need to be Canadian citizens or have permanent residency status. All investors must be 18 years of age or older and must bank with a Canadian financial institution.
Gather is managing the investment process internally with guidance by Tapestry Capital.
The community bond is designed to provide a lower entrypoint for investors ranging from $1,000 to $150,000. There is currently no limit on the investment amount up until the $15M total campaign goal.
We are launching the bond on December 3, 2025 and plan to actively raise capital for the community bond for 24 months, or earlier if the $15 million raise target has been reached.
Interest is paid on an annual basis by direct deposit, typically in the month of December.
Principal dollar amounts will be held for the term of the bond ranging from three to seven years. After the term expires, Gather will pay back the principal capital to the lender and provide an opportunity to reinvest the principal for a new term.
Investing in community bonds, like any other type of investment, includes risk. Investors are responsible for due diligence to assess the issuer’s financial health, understanding bond terms, and considering economic conditions prior to investing in the community bond.
